Ingredients
Instructions
- A good handful of Blueberries
- 1/2 Avocado
- 1Tbspn of Coconut Cream
- 1/2 Tsp of Ground Cinnamon
Instructions
Stupidly simple!
In a bowl, mix all the ingredients.
Apart from being incredibly smooth & flavourful... Why is it good for us?
1) AVOCADO: healthy heart, anti-ageing, satiety
- The avocado is a fruit which is a very good source of Potassium, slightly better than bananas. And it's so low in sugars!
Show Off Show Off ...
I guarantee you can show off a bit with that, next time your Personal Trainer tells you to eat a Banana to get some Potassium!
If you are taking corticosteroid drugs, it is important to get potassium-rich foods as these drugs may increase potassium loss in urine. A good reason to get some avocado every day !
- Avocados also contain a fairly good amount of Vitamin E, which acts as an antioxydant, defending lipids and other components of the cells against oxidative damage. In other words, to limit cell damage, prevent disease and slow down the ageing process, get some Vitamin E-rich foods.
2) BLUEBERRIES: Without a Doubt the Anti-Oxydant Superstar & probably a superfood for Brain Health !
3) COCONUT CREAM: Fat-Loss & Tropical Fragance
Made from the flesh of coconuts, it contains 55% of fat (Natural Saturated Fats), and lots of fibre (15%).
Some studies (here and there) have showed that coconut fats may be helpful to trim down our waist area and may contribute to a beneficial blood lipid profile.
So what are we waiting for ?
4) CINNAMON: anti-ageing & flavourful
I guarantee you can show off a bit with that, next time your Personal Trainer tells you to eat a Banana to get some Potassium!
Potassium is a Major Mineral, or Macromineral, meaning that it is found in the human body in amounts larger than 5 grams.
It is critical to the maintenance of fluid balance, nerve impulse transmissions and muscle contractions.
With industrialization (last 200 years) and an increased consumption of processed foods, there has been a decrease in Potassium intake. This study says that "the ratio of Potassium to Sodium was 10 to 1 whereas our modern diet has a ratio of 1 to 3".
Do you want to hear some good news? There is some evidence showing that low potassium intakes raise blood pressure. A diet rich in Potassium (fresh fruit and veggies) appears to reduce the risk of stroke.

- Finally, avocados provide satiety as they are rich in fats. And because they mainly consist of Monounsaturated - Fats (63%), compared to Polyunsaturated Fats (found in most nuts) these fats are less likely to become rancid and generate toxic effects in your body.
- Blueberries contain Anthocyanins, a phytochemical which give them their blue colour. Anthocyanins are powerful free radicals scavengers. Apparently, the antioxidant effect remains for freeze-dried blueberries.
- They are high in Vitamin C, Fibre and Potassium.
- They are non-starchy fruits, low in sugars

Cinnamon is a spice derived from the bark of the cinnamon tree. There is unclear or conflicting scientific evidence regarding the benefits of cinnamon, however this spice has been used for centuries as a carminative (means that it helps combatting flatulence).
The treatment of diabetes type 2 seems to be the most promising field of research. Cinnamon may help to improve glucose and insulin metabolism. Also, cinnamon bark contains a high level of antioxydants (molecules that interact with and stabilise free radicals, preventing the damage they might cause)which is to me a very good reason to use it! And it tastes so nice, so why-not-try ?
If you live in Sydney, you can get some Artisana Coconut Cream and some Ground Cinnamon at the OVViO Store in Paddington.
Bon Appétit mes Amis !
